MONTHLY PROGRAMS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Wednesday, September 6, 2006, 7:00 p.m. – Jerry Tracy, artistic director of the Aloha Performing Arts Company, gave us advanced information about their coming season. Meeting held in the lobby of the Kanaloa Resort.

Saturday, October 14, 2006, 11:00 a.m. – Visit to the new Kona Fruit and Coffee Exhibit Garden where we learned all about favorite Hawaiian fruits, chosen by local chefs, who use them in their culinary creations. Dick Kuehner who was instrumental in the design and creation of this special garden was our tour guide.

Saturday, October 21 - Ironman Fundraiser to raise money for our AAUW Kona Branch Scholarship program.

Thursday, November 2, 2006, all day - GEMS (Girls Exploring Math and Science). Instead of a regular meeting we are all involved in our wonderful annual GEMS program for fifth grade girls. Location: Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort.

Thursday, December 7, 2006 – Annual holiday celebration and Silent Auction for members and guests. Location: Jackie Rey's Ohana Grill

January 20, 2007, 10:30 – Annual joint Saturday luncheon meeting the the Hilo Branch members. Location: Keauhou Bird Conservation Center in Volcano

Wednesday, February 7, 2007 –“ Marti's Money Magic” - Marti Henrickson, CFP, CFS, certified financial planner with over 25 years of experience, will share information with you to assist you with your financial planning through all phases of your life. Meeting will be held in the lobby of the Kanaloa Resort at 7:00.

March, 2007 – We will enjoy a gourmet lunch, prepared and served by the students in the Food Service Program of University of Hawaii Center at West Hawaii. This lunch will be held at the college. It will be followed by our introduction to the new chancellor of the college. A date and time for this program can't be announced until after January when the Culinary Department plans their luncheon schedule for the 2nd semester.

Wednesday, April 4, 2007, 7:00 p.m. – Donna Goodale, marine biologist, will share some of her adventures and under-water photos with us. This meeting will be held in the lobby of the Kanaloa Resort at 7:00.

Wednesday, June 6, 2007 - Installation of officers, potluck dinner, and new membership drive. Location to be announced.
